Golf Courses and Golfing Around Estonia

Vihula-Mini-Golf-Windmill When people consider golfing breaks, it’s customary to think of popular golfing hotspots on the Mediterranean or some of the major golf resorts in the UK and Ireland for a short break. However, surprising new destinations for lovers of the game of golf are on the rise. One such country is Estonia, which offers a small, but select, number of outstanding golfing challenges, for the serious and not-so serious golfer.

1. Vihula Manor Country Club & Spa

If you’re looking for a place that not only offers all the high quality you would expect from a modern day resort, but the chance to play a little fun golf with the family, then the beautiful Vihula Manor Country Club & Spa is the perfect choice.

Not only is it handily situated close to the capital Tallinn, but it also boasts its own fantastic mini-golf course, the largest of its kind in the Baltic region with 18 holes of family-friendly gameplay. Each hole showcases the natural beauty and magnificent architecture of the three Baltic countries.

2. Vihula for the avid golfer

For golfers that want to swing the 9 iron a little and give themselves a sterner test, Vihula is ideally situated close to some of the finest courses in Estonia.

On the road to Tallinn is the magnificent Estonian Golf and Country Club. Ranked in the top 100 courses in continental Europe by Golf World magazine, boasting a fantastic 9-hole Stone Course as well as two 18-hole Sea Courses. The course also boasts its own range, tuition and club and cart hire for visitors.

3. The von Stackelberg, Kreutzwald and City Hotel Tallinn for golfers

Also close by is the magnificent capital of Tallinn, home to the oldest golf course in the Baltics. Unique Hotel’s three Tallinn properties – The von Stackelberg Hotel Tallinn, Kreutzwald Hotel Tallinn and City Hotel Tallinn – are all excellent bases for golfers wishing to stay within the capital.

Close to Tallinn is Niitvälja Golf Club, which first opened to the public as a nine-hole course in 1993 but has since expanded to a world class 18-holes. There’s also Suuresta Golf Club, which offers 18 quality holes in a magnificent setting just 20 minutes outside Tallinn city centre.
